2008 Press ReleasesFM for Fire Version 4.0 ReleasedEnhanced features further streamline scheduling, reporting and work order requests SAN DIEGO, Calif., February 29, 2008— TISCOR, an innovator in equipment management and inspection software systems, today introduced the the release of FM for Fire Version 4.0, the company’s paperless software system used by fire professionals to schedule, track and document inspection and maintenance activities on fire & life safety equipment. Used with Windows-based Pocket PCs, managers simply send tasks electronically to their technicians’ hand-held devices, eliminating the need for paper-based inspections. New features in FM for Fire Version 4.0 include, but are not limited to: Location Tasking. Location Tasking allows Question Sets to be assigned to Location barcodes. This enables a Technician to scan a Location barcode on the Pocket PC and be prompted with a list of questions. Responses to these questions can then be viewed from the Tour Report. Missed Inspection Report. This new report will display any inspections that have been missed over a period of time, and display them in a Daily, Monthly, or Yearly layout. This report identifies how often an inspection should occur and compares it to actual inspections performed; the report then displays the total number of inspections that were missed. Hourly Scheduling. Support for Hourly Scheduling has been added. This allows Tasks to be scheduled every (x) hours. Combined with the new Missed inspection report, this provides an excellent way of making sure that technicians are performing their checks during each shift. Workload Preview. The Technician Device Assignments table now has a Workload Preview button that displays the number of Tasks that will be sent to the PPC. If the user sees that too many tasks are assigned, they can uncheck one or more Tasks to reduce the workload on an inspector. Incident Email Notification. Incidents now have the ability to trigger emails. This means that if a Technician selects an Incident during a field inspection, an email will be sent immediately after their PPC is sync'd. This would be useful when performing inspections such as Valve Checks.
