TourWatch XT Now Compatible with More Devices
Expansion to Pocket PC Devices
SAN DIEGO, Calif., January 18, 2008—TISCOR an innovator in guard tour management systems, today announced the release TourWatch XT Version 7.0. The software is used by facilities to streamline security-related documentation. The new application is now available for use with Pocket PC devices, which opens up an array of options to users.
By using the hand-held device to scan barcodes at specific locations, the system helps officers document detailed information about their tours and validate their presence at the location. The inspections are then time-and-date stamped by the system, providing indisputable proof that the tours and inspections occurred. After security rounds, the collected information can be quickly uploaded from the device to a PC database, eliminating hand-written log sheets and time-consuming data entry. Reports can then be printed relative to the information required.
TourWatch XT is now compatible with three Pocket PC devices: the CN2 from Intermec, and the MC70 and MC9090 from Symbol. As officer diversification has become more common, officers are tasked with duties other than the typical visual location checks. The Pocket PC devices meet the needs of these officers who are often required to inspect equipment, such as fire extinguishers, fire exit doors, or other equipment during their normal routes. The Pocket PCs provide functionality that allows for question sets, directing an officer to answer specific questions about a piece of equipment or location. TourWatch XT is also compatible with the PulseStar, Laserlite, and Laserlite Pro from Videx.
