FacilityManager for Fire Version 3.6 Maintenance Release Unveiled
Featuring Windows Mobile 5.0 PPC compatibility
SAN DIEGO, Calif., March 2, 2007—TISCOR announces the release of FacilityManager for Fire 3.6, the most recent maintenance release of the software system. The popular product is used by fire professionals to schedule, track and document inspection and maintenance activities on fire & life safety equipment.
The software is now compatible with three new PPC devices: the CN2 from Intermec, and the MC70 and MC9090 from Symbol. The devices were added to provide more selection to customers in choosing a PPC device that works best in their environment. All three devices are rugged and built for use in a variety of environments.
Customers in attendance came from companies such as 3M, Boeing, CITGO, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Dow, Disneyland, Navistar, NASA, SeaWorld and Toyota.
With the new devices, comes a new feature: a PPC warning label for Quick Inspection, AutoUpdate or AutoMove enabled. A warning message (unobtrusive red text and warning icon) will appear on the PPC to indicate if Quick Inspection, Auto Update, or Auto Move features are turned ON.
The maintenance release also features a Network server /client software version check: It is a more robust check for network installations that prevents the possibility of mismatched network servers and network clients. Now when a mismatch is found, a message will be given with the mismatched version numbers. Additionally, if the network client is an older build, the user will get a message asking if they would like to update to the later version. If YES is selected, the network client will be updated to the same version that is on the server.
