PROTRAC Security is a guard tour software system that is used with mobile bar code readers or hand-held devices to document that security officers have visited their required checkpoints. With each scan of a bar code at checkpoints, the time, date and location of each security inspection is recorded, offering management unprecedented accountability for their security staff's route activities. To set up the system, security managers simply place bar codes at all checkpoints. The hand-held device directs the Officer to checkpoints on the route and can prompt the Officer through a series of tasks if an inspection is required. Once the routes are completed, the device is placed into a cradle that transfers the inspection data to a central database. The system then allows management to generate reports and charts detailing all inspection activities. Customers have used PROTRAC Security to: - Protect against law suits.

- Defend against liability for onsite injuries.
- Prove employee actions.
The system is also used to: - Improve basic entry security, including the outside air entry points through the use of documented guard tour activity, locks and cameras.
- Increase the frequency of security patrols.
- Check and document information about cars parked close to buildings or parked overnight.
- Escort all guests and outside contractors to and from destinations and document the security activity.
- Escort maintenance personnel performing work on rooftop units and document the security activity.
- Step up the screening process for contractors or subcontractors working in the building by using the system to record information about the individuals.
- Tighten up security in garages and limit access to pedestrians.
- Add a physical presence to all building entrances and document information about persons entering or leaving a facility.
- Limit access to mechanical rooms.
- Protect all water supplies and restrict access to water meter and tanks.
- Systematically inspect all water tanks and underground storage areas.
- Secure the ventilation systems, including the network of supply and return ductwork.
- Check open dumpsters.
